A superb breakfast is one of the highlights of a stay at the Bentley. There is a choice of cereals, fresh-fruit salad, dried fruits softened in apple juice, plain and fruit yoghurts, home-made jams and marmalade, home-baked brown and white bread, as well as the traditional full English grilled breakfast of bacon and egg, sausage, black-pudding, hash-browns, baked beans, mushrooms and tomatoes. For those wanting a lighter meal, we offer smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. Vegetarian options are available provided we have notice.
- We bake both brown and white bread daily.
- In spring, Seville oranges appear in the local market and we make marmalade.
- For jam, in autumn we use local blackberries and plums. In summer we pick strawberries, raspberries and gooseberries at a local farm.
- This is Irene, popularly known as the egg lady, on one of her weekly visits to bring us eggs direct from her farm.
- Given advance notice we can provide pitta bread with home made hummus and babaghanoush for vegetarians.
